6 Ways to Unwind

There is nothing better than having a relaxing day or evening after a really hectic week, month or even year. Please don’t let it get that long before you relax, you’ll make yourself ill. However, everyone needs  a rest now and again and these are the 6 ways I like to relax and take my mind off whatever is troubling me.

Bath

There is nothing better after a long day at school/college/uni/work etc then running yourself a nice, hot bath. Or as my boyfriend explains ‘satans water’ because I like mine really hot. Pouring the bubble bath in and lighting the candles. Placing a towel where your head will rest whilst you delve in to the book your reading. Sometimes turning the lights off is so much more peaceful, but I don’t recommend this if your reading a book haha. Just the thought of it really makes me want to run one now.

Face Mask

I love putting on a face mask whilst you’re in the bath, cause it’s the perfect time to not only relax but know your skin is being taken good care of. I don’t only use them when I have a bath but that is the most relaxing way to enjoy them. However, just putting on a face mask and placing cucumber on your eyes is one of the best things to do when you’ve had a stressful day. Theres nothing worse than breaking out and hey you have some cucumber to eat at the end of it.

Books

I love reading, I always have and the reason I find this so relaxing is you enter someone elses world. You escape your own life. The characters that the author creates I always find I gain such an emotional attachment to and live in their world for however long I like to read. If I could I would read all day and not going to lie I’ve finished books within a day. Yes, I am well aware I am a book nerd and I could open a library. No fucks given.

A Walk

A walk is the best way to chill me out, especially if I go sit on the beach. I have always lived by the sea so it’s no surprise that whenever I’m feeling low or any negative emotion I tend to find myself sitting on the beach. It calms me and I hope people get that because its hard to explain why. I think it’s the sounds the waves make, or the look of the landscape beyond me. I dunno, I just find it really therapeutic.

Cup of tea

A good old cup of tea cures everything. I like mine with two sugars and milky. A builders tea apparently, but hey thats the way I like it. A cup of tea I always have at the end of the night because it calms me down and in some way helps me sleep even though I like my sugar in it. Weird. It works though, whenever someones sad offer them a cuppa. They are not going to decline the British way to be.

As always thanks for reading, see you on Monday for my Autumn Lookbook 2018.
