Hello my lovelies, today I’m talking to Teri, 22-year-old blogger and business woman, who lives in Teesside. Her business is made up of unique men and women’s watch line called Ellington Timepiece. She dedicated the collections name to her German shepherd, Sheba after Teri suffered from depression , anxiety and a condition called agoraphobia, she was unable to leave the house for almost two years. Her dog, Sheba helped her become herself again. Teri talks about how her dad is her biggest influence and how you should never give up because FAIL means, first attempt in learning.
What were you doing before blogging and how did you get in to it?
Before blogging I was just working part-time in different jobs one of them being a barmaid. I was sat in bed one night watching beauty videos and makeup videos and decided to look in to it more . I then decided to give it a go but wasn’t sure what to talk about or do , it was then I decided to cut my hair in my very first video and my Instagram and YouTube went from there really. In my second video, I then spoke about my mental health struggles and advice on how I dealt with it. This brought a lot of feedback and lovely messages from different people. I do now spend more time blogging on Instagram.
What’s the best thing you’ve done so far within your blog?
Collaborations with different brands . I love working with different people. You get to see the different looks and fashion while working from home.
Who is the biggest influence?
My dad. He has metal plating in his back and finds it hard to walk some days, however he still gets up and does his day-to-day routine. I didn’t spend much time with him when I was young as he worked away a lot, but due to his health and family circumstances he stayed at home a lot more. I learnt more about him and he went from being just my dad to my best friend. He writes sci-fi books so he has so many creative ideas.
He sounds like an amazing dad.
Best advice you’ve ever been given?
If you fail, never give up because F.A.I.L means “First attempt in learning”. End is not the end, in fact E.N.D means “Effort never dies”. If you get a no as an answer, remember N.O means “Next opportunity”.
I love those sayings, I will always remember them.
What do you do in your spare time?
I listen to my vinyls , walk my dogs and just catch up on movies and TV. I like to try to spend time with family and friends.
What is your favourite and least favourite part about blogging?
My favourite part is speaking to different people and working with brands. I don’t think I have a least favourite part. Maybe just the time it takes to get the best content.
Favourite beauty brands?
I like brands that are animal cruelty free such as elf. Their foundations are great.
Typical day in your life?
They change everyday. Some days are exciting filled with meetings, meeting new people and then there’s other days where I work from home and just chill out. Most of the time it’s just working on my brand and blogging.
One product you couldn’t live without?
Body moisturizer, I get really dry skin and moisturizer really helps . Also technic lipstick called ” kiss me Romeo” it’s the best lipstick around and I wear it everyday and it’s lasted 9 months!
Moisturiser is a key product for me too. I do have to say that lipstick sounds amazing!
3 words to describe you?
Loyal, trustworthy, passionate
Describe your personal style?
Unpredictable, my style changes every day.
Drugstore or high-end?
Definitely drug store.
Best advice to bloggers?
Consistency is key. Keep engaging with people and communicate. Share different ideas and don’t be afraid to show who you truly are. There is more positivity than negativity in the blogging world.
