Hello my lovelies, its Wednesday, it’s Behind the Screens day and it’s the 20th episode. I’m so happy that you’ve all loved this series and continued to read and get to know each individual. It’s been such an amazing experience and I can’t wait to keep going.
Today I’m talking to model Rhiannon, who is 20 years old and lives in Kent, she currently works at Ann Summers part-time and the rest of her time she spends at shoots or photography workshops. Rhiannon talks about how she’s not only a model, but a qualified makeup artist and has two different YouTube channels. One for beauty and one for singing!
What were you doing before modelling and how did you get in to it?
Before modelling I was studying to be a makeup artist which I am qualified for now. I still love makeup with a passion so I started my own YouTube channel but I have to admit I am slacking at the moment but no one is perfect.
What’s the best thing you’ve done so far within your modelling?
The best thing I have done so far would probably be how I network myself, spending endless hours contacting photographers and talking to companies about collaborations and my followers keep growing which makes me so happy to know that all my hard work is paying off!
What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time I like to make sure I’ve filmed something to edit on trains to shoots etc. But I really do love to sing! I studied music performance before studying my makeup course and I really enjoyed it but I knew it was a hard industry to get into so I’ve got a little recording set up at home where I record any songs I’m feeling and upload them to my YouTube channel ( yes another YouTube channel).
What is your favourite and least favourite part about modelling?
The thing I love most about modelling is that I genuinely really enjoy it! I’m not academically smart in any way shape or form so to be finally good at something is a big thing for me and also a huge thing is, not many people know this about me but from a previous relationship I’ve carried a lot of baggage to the point I really hated my body and always thought it looked “ugly” or “fat” but modelling has really boosted my confidence as I can see my body in a different light and actually look at it and say like yeah I look good yanoo 🙂
The down side to it for me is that it can be extremely overwhelming. Working 3-4 days a week and on all my days off I try to make sure I’m doing a shoot of some sort or anything that would help my career so yeah I’ve had some breakdowns from being over worked but I know it will pay off some day (fingers crossed).
What one product couldn’t you live without?
The one beauty product I can’t live without would hands down be lashes! I wear them every day! They just make a look yanoo.
Best advice to models.
My best advice I could give would to just not give up and just push yourself because one day it will all pay off, even if you’re feeling down about everything, just try to see the good in situations! Don’t look at how far you’ve got to go but to see how far you’ve come.
Thanks for reading my lovelies, tune in tomorrow for my interview with Elise Didem.
