Behind the Screen of Rebecca Faye

Behind the Screen of Rebecca Faye

Hello my lovelies, omg its like three days before my boyfriend and I move in to our new flat and I’m super excited. Of course these interviews were written in advance so your girls super organised. That genuinely was not sarcastic if it came across that way, I am actually organised for once with my blog haha. Anyway, today I’m talking to Rebecca, a blogger originally from Kent but now lives in Hertfordshire with her boyfriend and (very lucky) dog Benny. She works as an SEO executive and loves fashion, beauty and anything pretty really! Rebecca talks about the pressure to look good on social media and how the best thing to do on Instagram is to engage, engage, engage! What were you doing before blogging and how did you get in to it?

I went to uni and studied for my degree in media and sport and than after working full-time in London for a bit then realised I wanted to get into marketing so I took the opportunity to do a 6 month unpaid internship for a charity and started up their blog and run their social media channels and I realised how much I enjoyed the blog part. So after a little time thinking of doing it I just set one up and went from there!
Whats the best thing you’ve done so far within your blog?
I’ve had the opportunities to work with some amazing brands and somehow earn some pocket-money with my blog and I feel so proud I’ve managed to do that all myself!
Who is your biggest influence?
There are lots of people who influence me, I really like Gemma’s content from Gemmalouise.co.uk she is so inspiring as she’s bringing up her lovely little boy whilst blogging and freelancing to make the money to support them on her own! Also her photos and content are on another level!
Best advice you’ve ever been given?
Best advice would be to always love what you do. If you don’t love what you do then you won’t get very far!
What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time I like to go for dog walks with my little family and I like to go out with my friends. To be honest I mostly chill in my spare time as I hardly ever get to.
What is your favourite and least favourite part about blogging?
Favourite part is the people, I love how supportive people are and it really makes me smile when I receive nice comments. Errrrm least I’d say is the pressure. Sometimes I feel really pressured to post or look good but I’m starting to let go of that idea now.
Do you think the idealised form of a woman’s body on social media effects us mentally and physically?
Yeah I think it does and especially as theres a certain way that fashion bloggers look that gets all the likes etc its pressurising to fit in like that. Because there are soooo many beautiful bodies everywhere you’re made to feel you need to compare somehow to stand out.
Favourite beauty brands?
I love a mix of beauty brands, I’m liking Kat Von d, Benefit and Urban Decay.
What is a typical day in your life?
Typical day would be get up, get ready and dressed, take my dog out for a quick walk before driving to work and working from 9-5:30, then come home, dog walk and have dinner, then honestly, flop into bed most of the time.
What one product couldn’t you live without?
Definitely mascara! I look like a child without.
OMG I know what you mean or ‘ill’ as some people say aha.
Three words to describe yourself?
Energetic, ambitious and emotional
How would you describe your personal style?
Personal style is quite classy but also edgy I like to dress up but I also like to look extra casj!
Drugstore or high-end?
Deffo drug store, Id rather find a good dupe and stick with that at less than half the price
Best advice to bloggers?
Best advice would be engage, engage, engage, get to know other bloggers and support each other.
