Hello my lovelies, today I’m talking to Sarah, a Sunderland girl, who’s 26 years old. She works full-time as a features editor for Belle Bridal Magazine, which is the North’s largest wedding magazine, and when she’s not writing about weddings she’s talking all things style, beauty and lifestyle over on her blog. Sarah talks about how her blog was shortlisted for an award and how Fenty Beauty is one of her favourite beauty brands right now!
What were you doing before blogging and how did you get in to it?
Before blogging I was on Tumblr! I got into blogging because I had to set up a blog as part of a module on my journalism course, and I just totally fell in love with it. So much so, that I kept it up and once I graduated I relaunched it!
Whats the best thing you’ve done so far within your blog?
The best thing I’ve done with my blog was I was shortlisted for an award in 2016. I didn’t win, but to be shortlisted was amazing, and because of that I made an appearance on the TV to talk about my blog.
That’s amazing well done!
Who is your biggest influence?
My biggest influence and inspiration is probably my blogging friends – Zest of Alice, New Girl In Toon, What Laura Loves – these ladies work their arses off and forever inspire me.
Best advice you’ve ever been given?
Don’t think too much about it. You do you.
What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time I dance, hit the gym and binge watch Netflix.
What is your favourite and least favourite part about blogging?
I love when I receive a message from someone telling them I helped them, or asking my advice on something. I feel so blessed when that happens. My least favourite part is the toxic comparison that sometimes happens when looking at others on Instagram.
Favourite beauty brands?
At the moment, Fenty Beauty, Temple Spa, The Ordinary and Urban Decay.
What is a typical day in your life?
Rolling out of bed, heading to work, being super creative in the office either writing articles, or working on an editorial shoot. Once my working day is done, I either hit the gym, or dancing. Then if I have time some blogging, but probably winding down with a good book before bed.
What one product couldn’t you live without?
My phone, or my car, or my contact lenses!
Three words to describe you?
Positive, creative and loyal.
How would you describe your personal style?
I would say my style is minimal, comfortable and very monochrome.
Drugstore or high-end gal?
High-end all the way. Sorry, but I always prefer to invest in my products!
Best advice to bloggers.
Don’t be hard on yourself and don’t compare yourself to others. Work hard, but don’t stress about things. Remember why you started a blog in the first place.
Thanks for reading my lovelies, tune in tomorrow for my interview with Becky Butcher.
