Hello my lovelies, today I’m talking to Paige, 23 years old from the west midlands where she goes to university at Keele. She is currently studying criminology and going in to her second year late September! She lives with her boyfriend and they have two syrian hamsters; Miso and Snow. Paige talks about how her biggest influence is her mum and her boyfriend and how her style is very laid back and comfy. Loving that!
How did you get in to blogging?
Blogging for me came about due to YouTube. I watch a lot of vloggers and some of those have blogs which is how I found out about it. I spent a lot of time reading other bloggers and then researching how to set up my own. I was very nervous at first because I felt I was putting myself out there; but it has become a great passion of mine.
Whats the best thing you’ve done so far within your blog?
Probably stick with it – I have a habit of taking on a lot of hobbies and then I forget about them. Not always on purpose, but sometimes I feel not good enough to carry on. So the fact my blog is still going after 8 months is fantastic! Especially as I have had university and some family stuff to deal with it.
Who is your biggest influence?
My biggest influence would have to be my mum and boyfriend. Both of them are my best friends and I can talk to them about everything. I remember discussing the idea of creating a blog with both of them and they were so supportive.
Best advice you’ve ever been given?
Be true to yourself! I have spent YEARS comparing myself to others, and this happened a lot with blogging.
What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time I usually read, catch on T.V and play with my hamsters. At the moment I have been watching Greatest Showman on the sing-a-long version as well as getting through my summer reading list. If my boyfriend is off work we go for walks into town and try and find lots of goodies in the charity shops.
What is your favourite and least favourite part about blogging?
My favourite part about blogging is the community – everyone is so supportive and offers lots of great advice. I spent a lot of time on Twitter when I first started to get some tips (also Pinterest).
My least favourite part about blogging is my own pressures that I put on myself to get content out. It sometimes makes blogging tedious rather than enjoyable so I blog when I want to blog.
What is a typical day in your life?
A typical day is waking up, brush my teeth, have a shower and make something to eat. I will usually clean the house or go to university. After that I will read a little or catch up T.V. If I have any work to do in regards to university then I spend the late afternoon/early evening doing readings and tutorial work for the next few days. If I am home I try to get some blog posts written, even if it is for drafts. Then by 5-6pm ish my boyfriend returns home from work so we make tea together and spend the evening playing a game or watching a movie.
Three words to describe you?
Ambitious, passionate and unique.
How would you describe your personal style?
Very laid back and comfy. I am always in skinny jeans and a comfy jumper – literally all I live in.
Best advice to bloggers.
The same advice I got given to me, stay true to yourself. It is so easy to feel that you need to produce X,Y and Z amount of content but really it is your platform.
