Hello my lovelies, today kicks off the second episode of Behind the Screens. Today I’m talking to the girl behind Abi Else. 20 years old, from Worthing or Brighton as Abi puts no one actually knows Worthing exists. She is an apprentice for a Digital Design company whilst studying a Diploma in Digital Marketing. Abi also has started up her own design business, plus making YouTube videos! This girl is crazy busy, but she pulls it off! Abi talks about her love for Tom Holland and how sometimes the YouTube community can feel like being back in high school. DRAMA!
What were you doing before YouTube and how did you get in to it?
Before YouTube I actually was around 12 years old (I know…8 YEARS AGO!) so, I was in start of high school! I got in to it because my best friend Tabby (who I’m still friends with now) used to show me all these random videos on YouTube. I will always remember the video, ROFLMAO. If you haven’t seen it, watch it but be warned, it’s weird haha! But, yeah, I ended up deep diving in to YouTube and finding YouTubers who I ended up aspiring to be!
What’s the best thing you’ve done so far within YouTube?
My best thing that I have created on my YouTube has to be my collabs with friends or my holiday vlogs, they’re just great memories that I love to rewatch.
Who is your biggest influence?
My biggest influence (when I was younger) had to be Zoella or xrubyredlips they both did makeup and hair tutorials. Now, I really love Sophia and Cinzia because they’re so down to earth and relatable.
Best advice you’ve ever been given?
The best advice I’ve ever been given is to never give up on your goals. It sounds so cliché but it’s so true. I never thought I’d hit 1000 subscribers and now I’m over 2000 in less than a year! The more hard work you put in, the more you’ll get out of whatever it is you want.
What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time I like to go to the cinema (I LOVE movies, especially Marvel, that’s my guilty pleasure) and shop. I am a shopping addict, it’s ridiculous! I also run my own graphic design company now, so I do work when I get home from work or I film and edit YouTube videos.
What’s your favourite Marvel film?
Oh god erm…currently I’d say the new Avengers purely because I fancy the pants off of Tom Holland and he’s really cute in it.
What is your favourite and least favourite part about YouTube?
My favourite part about making videos is the interaction with people who you don’t know. It’s crazy to think people from the US and India, or Australia watch my videos and know who I am…and like me!
My least favourite part is, and I’m going to be brutally honest, but the community. Sometimes I feel like it’s like being back in high school, but fortunately all the people I’m friends with online are lovely!
What one product wouldn’t you live without?
One product I can’t live without is my face SPF! People if you do not use a face SPF every day then you are doing wrong! I watched a documentary on ageing and something like 70% of ageing is caused by sun damage. A simple bit of SPF in the morning will save your skin from sagging so much when you’re old and grey!
Looks like I need to get some SPF in my skin care routine!
Three words to describe you?
Three words to describe me…hmm…I don’t want to sound conceited at all but, maybe, friendly, honest and…weird? I am a little weird, but weird is good right?
Of course girl. If everyone wasn’t a little weird the world would be boring!
How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style goes from a Riverdale Serpent to a glam Gossip Girl.
Drugstore or high-end gal?
I love both drugstore and high-end! I always reach for high-end foundations and concealers, as they last better in my opinion. I do love Makeup Revolution though!
Best advice to bloggers.
My best advice would be to keep at it and don’t do anything for the wrong reasons. It will never work out if you don’t genuinely love it!
Thanks for reading my lovelies, see you next Wednesday for episode three of Behind the Screens.
