Tan gone wrong!!

Tan gone wrong!!

Hi lovelies! So I recently won this bronzing body BB cream from The Body Shop in a competition and I was super excited to try it. I don’t fake tan at all as I tan very easily when on holiday and when the weather in England decides to be nice! Plus it would go drastically wrong and I know I would end up looking like an Oompa Loompa.
However, I really did like the sound of a BB cream that made you look like a bronzed goddess. WRONG!
I love The Body Shop and nothing has shocked me ever before in my life of using their products. I do want to say though it’s not the product it’s me. I just don’t do fake tan, bronzing, nothing. I like it natural. This however made me look like I’d been covered in glowing chocolate.

It started off really well and my arms looked super tanned, however it did fade my tattoo a little as the consistency of the product is quite thick. I then went on to do my chest, before I realised it clumping on my chest and clinging to my dry patches, my boyfriend had already said I looked like an Oompa Loompa. Not the compliment you want to hear but I have to say my chest was not going well. EXFOLIATE is key here, which I clearly didn’t do because it’s not fake tan so just applied it. I was so wrong. I would recommend exfoliating before you use this product.

I do have to confess it came straight off, it was a beautiful colour and made me super dark. Plus my skin was extremely moisturised which I loved as my skin is quite dry. It was super easy to apply as well.  However, my chest was just not appealing to look at. Me and my boyfriend laughed my way through it as I had never experienced such a situation. I knew I wasn’t meant for fake tanning but this was on another level.
If I was to use it again I think I would just use it on my arms and wear everything else covered up. However, I do think I will be avoiding any tanning / bronzing products from now on. I’m going to do it the natural way. If your a fan of fake tan and it comes naturally to you I would recommend this as it’s gorgeous to work with, just not for me!

Thanks for reading

    Very relatable post!
I tried fake tanning for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and I had the exact same problem with my chest.
I guess it takes a lot of practice to get it right – but in all honesty, I doubt I’ll try again!

Great review. I would love to pull off fake tan, but I’m naturally pale so it just looks so wrong on me ? I’ve only ever braved doing my legs

Oh my gosh, tanning NEVER goes well for me which is tragic because I’m the palest of the snowmen ahahahaha!! I would recommend a gradual tanning moisturiser even though that hasn’t been perfect for me either but, to be honest, you can never achieve a perfect fake tan but definitely try it!

This doesn’t sound too amazing, I’ve never really dipped into any of the bronzing products by The Body Shop but I know what not to go for now

If you can do fake tan I would recommend this, I just have no clue when it comes to tanning
