Updated Skincare Routine

Updated Skincare Routine

Happy Sunday my lovelies! Sundays are always my pamper days, my nails are needing love asap and my skin is definitely looking forward to a face mask. If you have been reading my blog from the start you will know that I am a sucker for skin care, it is my holy grail. For good skin, you must have a routine. I know that for a fact, one day I miss and my skin gets so greasy. I realised from my previous skin care routine which you can read here Skincare Routine that I have dropped a lot of what I done to my skin. I felt my skin was getting pampered to death which isn’t a bad thing, but I’ve definitely seen the change in my skin since reducing my routine to just three steps.
The products I use:

Cleansers –

As you will know from my previous skin care routine I give thanks to Dermalogica for clearing up my acne and I have never not used another cleanser. However, I did decide to try out the cleanser everyone was talking about. The ‘Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser’. I had seen it everywhere and had always wanted to try it but didn’t want to mess up my skin as it was at a really good stage. As a multi-award winning cleanser I thought I couldn’t possibly go wrong. It promises you that it instantly removes daily grime, pollutants and makeup, to leave skin feeling comfortable, balanced and exceptionally clean. I can tell you that it does exactly that. My skin has never felt so soft and clean as it does with this cleanser,  the formula is so creamy just like the Dermalogica one which is why I think I like it so much. If I’m honest they both work exactly the same way, however my skin does feel a little greasy sometimes but I’m not sure if that’s the cream I am using. However, the Liz Earle one is half the price of the Dermalogica so bargain really. It also smells amazing because it’s filled with cocoa butter, chamomile, rosemary and eucalyptus. I use this morning and night.

Toners –

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset
Botanics has become a favourite of mine, through being a brand ambassador for them I have grown love for not only their products but their ingredients, everything is natural. Nothing has hurt my sensitive skin, nothing has broken me out and it smells like plants! I have to say some of the smells are very strong, they did take a while to get used to but now I think they smell gorgeous. The toning spritz I use morning and night after cleansing and its so refreshing and completely calms down my redness on my skin ready for application of my day/night cream. Rose water is one of the ingredients that helps reduce the inflammation of the redness on your skin as it has anti-inflammatory properties, which I really need in my life as my skin flares up so much. For £7.99 this toner is a bargain.

Creams –

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset
I love this cream, at first it took a while to get use to due to an extremely strong smell, but now it’s used in my every day routine. It’s perfect for the winter as England is so bloody cold and leaves your poor skin all dry and dehydrated and this brings it back to life! It does leave my skin a little greasy, so I do feel that this cream may be a tad too rich for my skin so I do recommend if you have oily/combination skin like me that maybe this isn’t for you. However, saying that it doesn’t get to the stage where it breaks me out. So that’s good haha. I do feel that maybe once I’ve run out of this that I will be going on to try something else. Botanics did send me a little Christmas present though, which is the super balm and I can’t wait to try that out as it looks more like a wax cream then a liquid cream. I will be writing a review on that so keep your eyes out for that blog post.

I do first of all have to say this isn’t my photograph, I didn’t take one of this night cream so therefore thank you to the Boots website. I’ve nearly run out of this cream from Nip and Fab and I am so very sad. This is amazing for clearing up spots and like it says on the bottle over night! At first, I was really sceptical thinking how can spots just go like that. Trust me, they do. The white heads that appear on your spots clear up within one night and by the second night, the red lump that is left has vanished. It’s literally like magic, who would have known it was even there. This product is specifically for people with oily/combination skin as it revitalises dull and oily skin. Perfect for me after a long day at uni and my face has started to go a little oily and I need a fix. Filled with glycollic, salicylic acids and niacinamide, it combines the three to help resurface and refine the skin, leaving you by the morning with a clearer, improved skin tone. For all of you that don’t know what glycollic acid, salicylic acid and niacinamide does read below.

Glycollic Acid – stimulates cellular activity and collagen synthesis to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin elasticity and firmness and boost radiance.
Salicylic Acid – Penetrates into and unclogs pores and the skin’s surface, combating black heads and reducing blemishes.
Niacinamide – Acts as an anti-inflammatory on the skin helping reduce the production of sebum, which causes large pores to develop, this process helps to reduce acne from forming on the skin.

For £7.47 I will definitely be purchasing more Nip and Fab products.

Let me know in the comments below what your favourite skin care product is.

Thanks for reading,

Sophie Joan x
