Nail repair kit review

Nail repair kit review

Hi lovelies. Hope everyone’s weekend is lovely. I’m off out with my mum today and then we’re meeting my boyfriend for some lunch. Today I’m here to talk about this nail repair kit I got sent. I was so excited to try this as I’m a fan of acrylics and can’t live without them. The only downfall is they make my nails super weak, so when receiving this I was sad that my nails had to go but happy because finally my natural nails could repair themselves!! I tested this for two weeks and here’s my results..
First of all the packaging was super simple but hey it’s nail varnish it doesn’t need to be that pretty. The colour they sent me was super gorgeous! It was a deep burgundy, perfect for autumn so I will 100% be using this more then. I got sent a nail wonder which is to help your nails dry faster and strengthen, a nail repair which is to strengthen and make your nails grow faster. They also sent me a nail repair remover which clearly says in the name what it is.

I decided to try out the colour they sent me as I recently took off my acrylics, so my nails were quite bare. As I said earlier the colour was gorgeous. I then put the nail wonder on top, I have to say my nails dried very fast which I was very pleased about because I’m one of those impatient people that can’t be bothered to wait for their nails to dry before doing things. Hence why I love the world of acrylics. My nails felt instantly stronger but I don’t know whether that’s because whenever I paint my nails they always feel stronger anyway because it casts as a barrier.

One week later and the results were very interesting. Nowhere had it said that it was chip proof, thank god as my nails were chipping and I didn’t want to blame the nail varnish as it had been doing a good job. That’s another thing I hate about doing your own nails, chipping! For me your nails just look super messy if they are all chipped and who wants to look like a hot mess. Not me!

I’m afraid to say by the second week three of my nails had broken. I was so upset as my nails had grown to such a nice length. This nail repair kit was meant to strengthen and lengthen my nails. They had definitely lengthened my nails but unfortunately they weren’t as strong as I thought. I have to say as well the breaks were painful!
In the end I decided to take the nail varnish off with the nail repair remover. I found this extremely hard. It took about 8 cotton pads to take the nail varnish off, I only had two layers on. By the end my whole hands were red, I mean it looked like I had killed somebody, not really the look I wanted!!

Overall, I really wanted to like this product to give my nails a break from acrylics but it did not do what I was expecting. Back to acrylics for me!

Thanks for reading

Sophie Joan x

I’m so so so awful at doing my nails! As soon as I see a chip I end up picking it all off, which is absolutely terrible! Maybe I should get myself a repair kit like this one. Great post hun x

Maybe your nails were too weak, even for this repair kit haha? 😀 Maybe you could try using a strengthening base coat on your nails (even without applying a colour afterwards) so they can heal and strengthen a bit? :). I liked your review though 😀

    Lovely post.
It’s a shame your nails still managed to break though!

Lovely post be great to see some photos to see what the colour is like on your nails. It can be different sometimes than what it looks like in the bottle

I’ve had my acrylics on for over a year (with infills) so this was a super interesting read. I love the colour btw!
