Beauty Box Review

Beauty Box Review

Hello my lovelies, who loves a monthly subscription to a beauty box?! Me! I’ve tried Glossybox before and loved it but sadly had to stop as money was tight (cry face). I was so excited when a new company called Make my Month messaged me about working with them. Who doesn’t love new beauty products every month! I was super excited to know that they would also be high-end products in the box that I loved! (I wasn’t paid for this but even if I was all my reviews are completely honest, I wouldn’t recommend something to you if I didn’t completely love it!) So, let’s go…

Delivery:

So, I shall let them off slightly because they are brand new and probably getting a business together is the most stressful thing in the world. No thank you. However, if this was a normal brand that had been going for years I would not be impressed. After saying that my box would arrive within 5-7 days, I did not receive it for two weeks. After messaging them twice I finally got a reply saying that their had been a mixup with my delivery (strange) and that it would be on its way. Considering I paid £7 for delivery, Soph was not happy.

Packaging:

Yes I am being negative nancy today but when you think of a box you presume that it will arrive in a nicely displayed box with tissue paper etc. Nope. The “box” was literally the delivery box, brown flat pack cardboard and pink tissue paper. The products just fell out. Not impressed. Where is my pretty box and layout? Ah! I didn’t know whether this was down to them being a new company and not having the money yet, but it really wasn’t looking bright for me.

Products:

Finally my eyes glowed at the sight of the products inside. A L’occitane hand cream, lush, you can’t go wrong with a hand cream especially in this dull, disgusting weather that England has. I then received Garnier face masks, amazing. If you know me I love skincare, its my holy grail, so great. Then, I saw I had received the Bare Minerals Loose Powder. So much pigmentation and the colour is gorgeous for my skin tone. I also received a lipstick from Freedom which I was super excited to try. The lipstick is a gorgeous pink colour, however it doesn’t stay very long on your lips. Overall, I was impressed with the products I had received.

Overall, I wasn’t impressed with the delivery or the packaging but I am hoping and praying to God that it gets better when they gain money. Is that rude to say? I’m sorry! They seemed super lovely though and they were really apologetic. The products were amazing though so I can’t fault them for that. I did notice that they now haven’t got any Instagram posts so my anxiety kicked in and I thought “maybe they don’t exist?!” I am obviously hoping this isn’t the case and that they grow to be an amazing company. Let me know in the comments below recommendations for beauty boxes, thank you for reading.

Love you all,

Sophie Joan x

Interesting to know. I currently subscribe to Fab Fit & Fun. Check them out as they are a legitimate company in the states. ?

I haven’t heard of this company before. To be honest I don’t mind so much about the box design as I’d rather the money went more on the products, but 2 weeks for delivery is not good! Will you be getting one next month?

That depends if they are legit as they haven’t messaged me back since and have deleted all Instagram posts. Strange.

I have yet to buy a subscription box of any kind but I find this quite interesting! It’s a rather long time to wait for delivery but I think I could deal with that! Will you be using them again?

If they eventually reply back to me and they are legit yes haha x

The products sound great, but I get what you mean about the visuals – the whole reason I want a beauty box of any kind instead of buying the individual products myself, is usually for the feeling of receiving a “gift” because they come so nicely packaged!
I’m sure they’ll get better with time and feedback 🙂

I LOVE anything by L’occitane – they are amazing, and i also love bare minerals cosmetics. I’m glad you got some great products despite the let down of the packaging. Enjoy!

I haven’t subscribed to anything, but I’ve always been interested in clothing subscription boxes. It gets me so iffy though? Thanks for the feedback!

Great post lovely! I used to be a Glossybox subscriber but gave up because I’d only like 2/5 products which was a shame! Hopefully the packaging will improve to give it a more luxe feeling x

It’s such a shame about the delivery period and the packaging, as the products sound really great! Hopefully they’re just finding their feet with starting up and will continue to improve 🙂 xo
