Hello my lovelies, I am finally writing a beauty related blog post after loving being focused on my Self Love Sunday posts which I am so grateful for all the lovely comments on. However, I thought it was about time I went back to talking about beauty during the week. Today I am talking about the Naked Basics Palette from Urban Decay and the 6 easy steps to get a smokey eye. I just want to say I am no makeup artist or in any way good at makeup but I love doing my makeup and you know what I tried my lovelies I really did haha. Hope you enjoy.
Step 1: First of all, I took the first shade Venus on a flat brush and placed it all over my lid just to set my concealer and create a clear base.
Step 2: I then took Naked 2 on my fluffy blending brush and applied it in my crease taking it quite high as I was wearing eyelashes so I wanted to make sure that I could see it just above the eyelashes. I blended it out with my blending brush that I got in a set that I bought on Amazon. Remember, always take less on your brush and build up the colour. If you put loads on your brush you are screwed and there’s no going back and your faced with a block of colour on your eyes. Not a good look I can promise you that haha.
Step 3: I then placed Faint using my crease brush just below where I put Naked 2 so I could still see the first crease eyeshadow but this was to define my crease a bit more and to gradually build up that smokey eye look.
Step 4: To really gain the smokey look I placed Crave in my outer v and started bringing it slightly on to the lid. I made sure to only take a small amount on to my flat brush as the colour is really pigmented and black is a risky colour haha.
Step 5: On a flat brush I took Venus again but this time placing it just in my inner corner and connecting it on to my lid with the black just to make sure there was no harsh lines.
Step 6: To complete the smokey look I took Faint and a tiny bit of Crave on to a fluffy blending brush and buffed that out underneath my eye near my water line.
And the look is complete…
I told you I am not the best and I do see that my left eye is so much better than my right eye but hey isn’t that how it always goes haha. As I said I am definitely not a makeup artist, but I hope you enjoyed my 6 easy steps to a smokey eye.
